LED is a recent addition to the sign industry. The cost to operate the lighting and the service requirement is much lower in comparison to Fluorescent or Neon illumination. The upfront costs are a bit higher but the savings are realized over the first few years of the life of the sign. You can use LED to light up the Plexiglas in channel letters (see Anna Bella photo), or you can make border tubes light up (see Dairy Queen photo), or even hide the LED to provide reversed channel letters (see The Body Shop photo).
