Fascia Signs

Single sided fascia signs are commonly made from translucent acrylic with vinyl graphics. These signs are the most economical to manufacture and to service. Fascia signs are typically eight inches in depth, and can be as large as you could possibly imagine in height and length. Usually after eight feet in height, we build the faces out of a flexible vinyl to avoid breakage and to reduce the weight for the installation. All back illuminated billboard signs are made using flexible vinyl for the face.

There is a higher end type of fascia sign. “Pierce and Infill” It is costly to produce compared to a simple plexi face with vinyl graphics because of both the additional labour and the cost of materials being used. In a Pierce and Infill sign, the word “pierce” is referring to cutting the sign face, typically aluminum. This sign face is usually made from 1/8 aluminum that has the letters routed out so the light can come through. The word “infill” is referring to the letters being pushed in the opening in the face. The letters are cut from a piece of ˝ inch translucent white acrylic and cut out exactly the same size to fit them inside the aluminum. The letters could be flush or protrude beyond the aluminum to make the sign three dimensional. Another style would be to pierce the aluminum then back it up with a sheet of white translucent acrylic to cover the holes. This is called pierce and back up and is a more economical way to achieve a similar effect
